Summary: RoofSnap uses Google's map tools to locate and confirm project addresses, but Google is not one of our licensed imagery partners for creating measurements.
Imagery Licensing
Pursuant to Google's Terms of Service, we are unable to provide Google Imagery to our users as an image from which to obtain measurements.
RoofSnap uses Google Maps to locate and confirm the location of properties and structures for our SketchOS service and for our users' DIY projects. This can be confusing for some users when they see the Google Maps image on the confirmation screen and are unable to use it for their measurements.
RoofSnap strives to provide the best imagery options for our clients, and our imagery options often surpass satellite imagery sources in resolution and in quantity of available imagery dates.

Other tools
Other measurement tools may provide their users the option to measure from Google imagery. They may have negotiated a license with Google, or be in violation of Google's terms.
We suggest every user do their due diligence when vetting a measurement service provider, and avoid placing their data in jeopardy by using unlicensed imagery.
Note: If our users' have access to imagery that is not offered through RoofSnap, they can upload their imagery and use it to measure their DIY projects.
