Building an Estimate Template
Estimate Templates can save you valuable time if you find yourself estimating similar roofing systems repeatedly. Templates allow you to save specific lists of line items to use again in the future.
When building a template, we recommend including only the basic elements of a roofing system that you will use every time-- like shingles, underlayment, nails, ice & water shield, drip edge, etc. You should leave off specialty items or anything that may vary from job to job--think off-ridge vents, plumbing boots, low slope materials, etc. Those items can be added to individual projects as needed via pins in the sketch or the green +Add New button in the Estimate Option.
Here are the steps to create a RoofSnap estimate template:
- Create a blank project in RoofSnap and go straight to the Estimates menu--no address, image, or sketch is needed.
- Add all line items (through the plus + button on Web App, or (i) info button on iPad).
- Once all the desired items are present within the estimate option, go to the three dots menu button toward the upper right and select the Save as Template option. If you are on iOS (iPad), go to the disk icon toward the bottom left to Save.
- Name the template so that you can distinguish it from other options.
Reminder: use a blank project (no sketch) for building your Templates; just create a project with no address and go straight to the Estimate menu.
