Summary: RoofSnap has multiple imagery partners included in the platform, some are used for project location and mapping purposes, others are used for measurements. If you have access to imagery not provided in RoofSnap, you can import it for use in your projects.
Imagery Uses
RoofSnap uses imagery for multiple purposes. Due to licensing restrictions, not all imagery providers are available for all uses.
The different uses of imagery in RoofSnap are:
Mapping/Location Confirmation - Imagery in this use case is only licensed for use in locating and confirming the location/structure of a project.
Supplemental Imagery - Imagery in this use case is licensed for viewing the property to determine pitch values, see hidden roof features (cornice returns, bay windows, overhangs, etc.), and conduct a preliminary inspection.
Measurement - Imagery in this use case is licensed for measurement purposes, as a source for drawing line diagrams, and reproducing in reports.
Imagery Sources
Google Maps - Mapping/Location Confirmation, Supplemental
Bing Maps - Mapping/Location Confirmation, Supplemental
Apple Maps - Mapping/Location Confirmation, Supplemental
Hexagon - Measurement (Coverage Map)
Nearmap - Measurement (Coverage Map)
Note: If you have licensed access to other imagery sources outside of RoofSnap, you can import that imagery for use in your projects. Users with a valid Nearmap subscription can have their subscription tied to their account for use in RoofSnap projects. Contact Support for details.
